Far too often in life, people settle for something they don’t want. Whether it’s something as small-scale as the color of the shower curtain or something as significant as the professional career you want, settling is often far easier and more convenient than actively pursuing what you want. These concessions can feel small in the moment, but over a lifetime, they stack up and become monumental in stature.
Fortunately, life doesn’t have to be this way, and no one is more acutely aware of this than Sarah Infinger.
When Sarah found herself living a life that saw her consistently settling for less, feeling like everything was ‘fine’ rather than going after what she wanted, she chose to change it all. Now, through her coaching brand, Sarahinallsizes, she strives to pass on the value of this lesson in perseverance and ambition to others in a strong, palpable way.
She says, “Transformation doesn’t require tragedy; it starts with the decision to stop settling and start choosing ‘more,’ even when life is ‘fine.'”
Sarah’s Origins
Sarah grew up in a small town in New Hampshire, raised by a single mother. She lived on autopilot for years, supporting her husband’s military career and working as a veterinary nurse. Through it all, she couldn’t help but feel quietly unfulfilled. Sarah’s big turning point came not from some tragic event that made her reconsider everything, but from an internal realization that she wanted more and could get it for herself.
She decided to take control of her life, lost 210 pounds, earned her degree, and built an online community of millions by documenting her journey in real time. Today, Sarah is an influencer, coach, and motivational speaker helping others break free from “okay” and step into the more they’re capable of.
The Crucial Difference
Sarah reiterates that her story isn’t about rising from a tragic childhood or hitting “rock bottom,” it’s about not finding satisfaction in mere contentment. Things don’t have to go awfully for you to feel validated in wanting more; you don’t need to feel guilty or ashamed of pursuing the life you think you deserve.
Sarah had a good life, but she wanted more. Rather than throwing anything away, she built a new life atop this foundation and tapped into a much greater degree of happiness.
In her coaching, Sarah speaks with humor, empathy, and honesty. Her goal is to make change feel possible for anyone, regardless of where they’re starting, because she knows from experience that it is.
Time for a Change
Many people have an idyllic setting in their imagination that they believe will be when everything clicks together in their life; some not-too-distant future where everything will be better, and they will find the satisfaction they seek. As Sarah Infinger has learned and teaches others, that day doesn’t exist. Instead, that change is something you have to incite yourself.
Even amid troublesome or imperfect conditions, there is no time like today to begin making the change you wish to see. Sarah hopes to develop a program or course offering mindset or life coaching, and even write a book to reach a wider audience.
Sarah concludes, “You cannot change from a place of self-hatred, only through loving yourself enough to want better.”
