A new collaboration between the TiE Boston Angels, an investment company, and other leading venture capital firms like Glasswing Ventures, Innospark Ventures, and Tola Capital is set to create an event to help fund AI businesses. The event will take place on March 25, 2025.

This initiative was designed to help small AI-powered businesses by offering them funding opportunities and mentorship as they grow. Companies chosen for funding will receive help from four of Boston’s leading venture capital firms and established networks.

Empowering AI Creations in Boston

Boston has been a longstanding hub for creating new technology. The partnership between these top Boston VCs aligns with the city’s desire to keep up with the growing AI scene.

The upcoming event will primarily focus on pre-seed, seed, and Series A companies utilizing AI valued at less than $20 million. The event hopes to facilitate rapid growth among emerging AI companies by bringing together this global network of established investors.

Massachusetts state officials are prioritizing efforts to implement and expand the AI market. Their efforts to innovate the region match TiE Boston Angels and their collaborators’ desire to lift promising new AI-focused companies.

Creating a Unique Opportunity for AI Startups

Startups that apply to participate in this event will have the chance to network with multiple investment partners, including TiE Boston Angels and three additional venture capital firms. These partners collectively manage over $1 billion in assets and have a combined portfolio that includes over 150 companies, demonstrating their proficiency in helping small businesses.

Beyond the monetary investments, entrepreneurs can create long-lasting, valuable connections at the event. This unique opportunity can help with strategic guidance down the road.

Rick Grinnell, the founder and managing partner of VC Glasswing Ventures, said, “At Glasswing Ventures, we are proud to be at the forefront as a first capital-in investor in startups driving innovation in AI and frontier technology. Our partnership with TiE Boston Angels, Innospark Ventures, and Tola Capital reflects our dedication to empowering visionary entrepreneurs and advancing disruptive AI-native applications.”

Grinnell hopes to uplift innovative ideas and help local entrepreneurs who need a hand with their company.

Support From Leading Venture Capital Firms

The four organizations involved in the March event are deeply invested in AI’s potential to transform industries. Glasswing Ventures specifically applies AI to enterprise and cybersecurity markets. Their disciplined investment approach comes with a strong advisory network that helps founders transform their markets.

Tola Capital focuses on software and AI solutions. The firm has years of experience from its involvement in cloud computing and is also dedicated to supporting industry-changing startups.

Innospark Ventures’ exclusive focus is AI. The early-stage VC firm focuses on building strong partnerships with founders, offering guidance on data and algorithms, and creating long-term value.

Aaron from Tola Capital added, “As enterprises adopt multimodal and agentic AI applications, the way we work is changing. We know that great startups in Boston are building new companies that will impact how we work in the future.”

Getting Involved as a Startup

The event is part of a series of initiatives by TiE Boston to become a leader in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The President of TiE Boston, Purnanand Sarma, said, “This effort follows a recent announcement we made regarding a US-India Life Sciences initiative. We are thrilled to collaborate with leading VCs in Boston to support the region’s entrepreneurs and the future of AI innovation.”

The application deadline for consideration is March 13, 2025. Entrepreneurs with AI-based companies at the pre-seed, seed, or Series A stage are encouraged to register on the TiE Boston Angels website.

This opportunity will expose new companies to investors and advisors committed to helping the next wave of AI-driven solutions.
